King, Marlene Rose 58 01/20/1952 09/30/2010 Our beloved mom has taken off on her final trip. Marlene was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Portland in 1988 where she worked for St. Vincent Hospital, and later as a travel agent. In 2004 she took up part-time residence in Scottsdale, Ariz., fulfilling her dream of becoming a flight attendant for America West, now US Airways. She is survived by her children Heather King, Brandon King, and Angela Rowland, their spouses; and her first grand-daughter, Ruby Jayne Rowland. We will miss her smile, her optimism, her compassion, her energy, and her ridiculously long messages on our answering machines. Thank you, mom, for teaching us that life is fun at any age!
